Q&A

This is basically some of questions I've received in emails or messages, and their answers. And yes, I will add yours if you send it to me.

Q: What is your zodiac sign? I would like to know your zodiac personality characteristics.

A: Some consider it Aries, some Taurus, but most say it's both. I was born on April 20th, [the 30th of Farvardin of the Persian calendar] right in the ending of Aries and Beginning of Taurus. As for the characteristics, well, it appears that I carry the 2 opposite extremes!

Q: Why "Aasemoon"?

A: For that, you'll have to ask my friends. They're the ones who put it on me.

Q: You don't smoke, and you don't drink coffee. What kind of an engineer are you?

A: The healthy kind I suppose. =P

Q: How come you've read so many books?

A: Umm.. I don't watch that much TV?! =)

Q: You studied both computer science and electrical engineering. Is it true that the one Field Theory course of electrical engineering is heavier or more difficult than all the computer science courses put together?

A: Well, that would be a yes! Generally comp-sci is about 50 times less challenging.

Q: Why blue?

A: I've simply loved the colour all my life. Apparently it was the first colour I showed reaction to, as an infant.

Q: Do you read all those ebooks on your computer monitor?

A: Nope. I use the Sony eReader. Read about it in my blog.

Q: You were the only girl in the winning engineering design competition team last year. How do you deal with all the attention?

A: I don't pay much attention to the attention. =P

Q: How is your first name pronounced? What does it mean?

A: My first name is pronounced like Yahoo, with the difference that there's no Y and the A is pronounced strongly [AA], like when you're saying "awesome". Ahoo is Persian for "deer". =)

Q: Aren't you afraid of the Matrix scenario? Your intelligent machines taking over the world?

A: I'm into the Asimov philosophy. ;)

Q: The extreme goth Paul Lee addresses you with terms like "anti-goth", "angelic" or "sky light" in his weblog. What do you think of that?

A: I don't think I like the "anti goth" expression very much, as it can be misunderstood quite easily. I don't have anything against the goth philosophy or gothic people. What Paul says, is his way of describing my personality, characteristics and beliefs.

Q: Among all those books, which one is your favorite?

A: Well... I don't know how to answer that. There are many books that I have strong feelings for. But just to name a few off the top of my head: The Dune series by Frank Herbert, a whole lot of Isaac Asimov's, everything by Samad Behrangi, and of course "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupéry.

Q: What's your favorite music?

A: Ok there really is no way I can answer that. There's again so many. Just see my last.fm for that. Again to call out a few, I would say anything by Genox and Mike Oldfield.

Q: You're part Celt, you wear a lot of Celtic Knots and you seem to have other Celtic tendencies. Are you into the Celtic religion?

A: Hmm.. well I can't say that I'm a 100% into any religion other than what I'd call my own religion. But there certainly are aspect of the philosophy of Celtic religion that I find quite compatible with my mindset, which is exactly why I've spent a lot of time studying the Celtic religion.

Q: I hear you got a little electrocuted while working in the lab once. How did that feel?

A: Ehm... funny?! =P

Q: I hear you literally kick photographers out of your office. Why is that?

A: Hey.. for Pete's sake, that's the completely untrue and incomplete version of the story! I don't have anything against photographers. As you might have noticed, my boyfriend does photography and even so do I! The ones I kicked out in a few occasions, were fashion photographers who were a little "persistent" on their "requests" for photo shoots, which as I have mentioned before, doesn't trigger my interest the slightest bit.

Q: Do you like poetry?

A: In a very selective and picky manner, yes. I love the Persian poet Hamid Mosaddegh.

Q: Is it true you don't ever forget anything? And that you remember everything that happens to you in your entire life, in detail?

A: Yes, I'm afraid so.
